Is there any realistic probability of "unmanned LACs" controlled from starships or other, manned LACs?
Probably not. There will be an increasing use of remote platforms and drones, some of which will probably be operated from and/or in company with LACs, now that the Manticorans have introduced their teeny-tiny fusion power plants. I'm still playing with exactly where I want to take this, but I already have several applications sketched out, including some that will be basically remote weapons platforms. Trust me, there will be additional changes, although I doubt this particular concept -- at least in terms of a fully realized, remote-controlled LAC -- will be one of them.
